JEOPARDY! America's Favorite Show

Harry Friedman in Hall of Fame

HARRY FRIEDMAN IS A HALL OF FAMER

On Monday, October 22, Harry Friedman, Executive Producer of the two highest-rated shows in syndication, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, will be inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame.

Friedman's career in television has spanned several decades, and has ranged from writing Emmy-winning comedic material for Hollywood Squares, to helping launch Rock 'n' Roll Jeopardy! for VH1 in 1998, to his current positions at Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Since becoming Executive Producer of the two shows in 1999, Friedman has overseen many innovations, including engineering both series’ transition to HD in 2005, introducing the Wheel remotes that have upped the show’s excitement level, and Jeopardy!'s Clue Crew of correspondents that travel the world in search of fascinating questions. In addition, Freidman lifted the five-day limit for contestants on Jeopardy!, thereby making Ken Jennings' 74-consecutive-day run possible.

“He is unquestionably, easily the best game show producer out there; he's in a league by himself,” says Steve Mosko, president of Sony Pictures Television. “What he has done over the years is to improve upon two of the greatest shows in the history of American television, and do it in a way that's subtle and enhances the experience without disrupting viewers.”

Every year, Broadcasting & Cable Magazine celebrates the power of television by honoring the best of the best. Harry Friedman is among the 13 new inductees this year that join 264 of their fellow media stars in the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame.
