CULVER CITY, CALIF. (Oct. 17, 2012) - Stephanie Jass, a 42-year-old Associate Professor of History from Milan, Mich., won $147,570 in cash after appearing for eight days on America's Favorite Quiz Show®. Her final tally puts Jass among the top 15 winners in the history of the show.

"The money seems imaginary at this point!" Jass said. "It was unbelievable to see the numbers get bigger and bigger on screen."

Jass credits her husband Doug Baker, as well as her father-in-law Ken for her success. "I took the online test once last year, but I didn't do well enough to get contacted. This year, my husband encouraged me to take it again, and I aced it! My father-in-law, a retired electrical engineer, also made me a signaling device that lights up when you press it to practice with. They really believed in me and thought I could win multiple games."

When asked what she'll do with her winnings, Jass replied, "I will certainly travel, but considering how much I won, we're also looking into purchasing an electric car." She also plans to use part of her winnings to assist her local community. "I will give a gift to Camp Arcadia, a Christian family resort which my family has been heavily involved with for over 80 years. It also happens to be the place where I got married!"

Jass received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Valparaiso University, as well as a Master of Arts in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University and a Ph.D. in history from Western Michigan University. During her spare time she enjoys relaxing with her husband and solving crossword puzzles, especially The New York Times Crossword Puzzle. "I firmly believe it contributed to my overall knowledge about a lot of things."
