Make sure you read through the step-by-step instructions located on the main page.

Registration

Parents and legal guardians, please click here to read through all requirements and to complete the registration form. Registration will close 30 minutes prior to the start of the test so don’t wait until the last minute.

Logging In:

On Tuesday, August 4th, we strongly encourage your kid to be at your computer, online and logged in 20 minutes before the test begins. Kids cannot login after the countdown clock hits zero.

Test date: Tuesday, August 4th
Login opens: 7:30pm ET / 6:30pm CT / 5:30pm MT / 4:30pm PT
Test starts: 8:00pm ET / 7:00pm CT / 6:00pm MT / 5:00pm PT

In that case, kids must close the login window, wait a moment, then reopen it before attempting to log in again.

Kids should enter the email address and password that their parents entered on the registration form.

When you are successfully logged in, the countdown clock will appear. Make sure to leave the test window open during the countdown.

Taking the test:

The online test is a 30-clue, 30-category test and will take approximately ten minutes to complete. Clues will appear one at a time and will run sequentially from one to thirty. Kids cannot pause, stop, or go back on the test. The test will not be repeated, and there will be no opportunity to review at the end of the test, nor to change any responses.

Timing:

Kids will have 20 seconds to respond to each clue - or to change their responses - before the test automatically captures whatever they have typed into the test window and advances to the next clue. Kids will have the option to submit their responses before the clock times out for a particular clue if they are ready to proceed, or they can wait for the full 20 seconds for your response to be automatically submitted. The speed at which your kid completes the test will not affect your score.

Note: If you wait for the full 20 seconds to expire, you will hear a “Time’s Up” sound effect. This does NOT mean that you have responded incorrectly. It’s simply a signal that the next clue is coming.

Important Tips:

After the Test:

The tests will be graded. Whether your kid passes or not, Jeopardy! never reveals actual test scores. Because of the extremely limited number of audition appointments, a random selection process will be implemented. Those selected to come to an in-person audition will be invited to their preferred audition city (chosen by parent or legal guardian at registration) to participate in full audition process consisting of:

If your kid passes all the requirements to become a contestant, he or she will be entered into the contestant pool. Passing these tests does not guarantee your kid an appearance on Jeopardy! or make him or her automatically eligible to appear on the show.
