A: Yes, they are welcome to participate in this round of testing as long as they still meet all other eligibility requirements.

A: Yes, they are welcome to participate in this round of testing as long as they still meet all other eligibility requirements.
- Q: Can I participate if I have a disability?
A: Jeopardy! is proud of its long-standing reputation of openness to applicants with disabilities. If your teen has a disability and requires assistance to complete the online test, you may have a family member, friend, or assistant read the clues to your teen and/or type in the responses. Please note print-to-speech software and/or voice recognition programs may not operate quickly enough to allow your teen to answer within the time constraints of the online test.

- Registration
- Q: How do I register my teen for the Online Test?
A: Parents must register on behalf of teens by completing all fields on the Registration Form. At the end of a completed registration, you will receive a confirmation number. DO NOT LOSE YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER. On the night of the test, your teen will login with your last name and your confirmation number. When registering, remember to use a valid email address that you check regularly. This is how you will be notified that your teen has been selected for an in-person audition.
- Q: I'm not sure my registration went through. How do I check?
A: Unsure whether you registered your teen for the February 2013 test? Click here to request a confirmation number reminder and to verify registration status. If the system does not recognize your email address, please register by completing the form.
- Q: The registration form didn't ask for a password. How will my teen log in?
A: We no longer collect passwords as part of the Online Test registration process. Your teen will now log in using your last name and a confirmation number. You should have been assigned a confirmation number after completing the registration form, and you should also have it saved in an email from jeopardy@news.sonypictures.com. If you cannot locate it, click here.
- Q: I lost or forgot my teen's confirmation number. How do I retrieve it?
A: Click here to have your confirmation number sent to the registered email address. Please add jeopardy@news.sonypictures.com to your address book, and make sure to check your spam or bulk folder.

- Test Details
- Q: Where will the test take place?
A: On the night of the test, teens will return to the main page of this site. We recommend logging in at least 20 minutes early. The "Register Now" button should now read "Log In". The Login button will take you to the page where you will need to enter your registered last name and confirmation number. You will know you are successfully logged in when the countdown clock appears. The test site will be open 30 minutes before the test begins. If you attempt to log in too early, you will be prompted to close your browser and return to the site at least 20 minutes before the test starts. If your teen is unable to see the "Test Login" button, please refresh your browser and try again. Once you have logged in and can see the countdown clock, do not close the test page until you are finished with the test. You will not be able to login again.
- Q: I am unable to take the test at the designated time. Can I log in late or reschedule?
A: The test will only be given once, and the dates and times are not flexible. The test will begin promptly at 3 minutes after the hour according to the test site's clock, and you must be logged in before the test begins. We recommend logging in at least 20 minutes early.
- Q: How long will the test take?
A: The test consists of 50 clues and teens will have a maximum of 15 seconds to respond to each clue. The test will take approximately 10 minutes. Teens cannot log in late or restart..
- Q: How do I submit my responses?
A: Anything typed into the response field will be automatically captured at the end of the 15-second limit. You will hear a "ping" alerting you to the next clue. You cannot pause, stop, or go back on the test. You do not need to answer in the form of a question. Last names only are acceptable. This is not a spelling test. Partial and mistyped answers will be considered. You may submit your response and skip to the next clue before the full 15 seconds have elapsed by clicking on the "Submit" button, but we strongly encourage you to use the full time to read the full category and clue and consider your response.
- Q: Do I have to phrase my responses in the form of a question?
A: No. DO NOT phrase your responses in the form of a question. Don't waste time typing "Who is..." and "What is..." (We'll test teens on their phrasing when they make it to the auditions!)
- Q: Will I be graded on spelling?
A: Correct spelling definitely helps in the test grading process. We encourage teens to review their response as closely as possible and check for any potential spelling errors before submitting.
- Q: Will completing the test quickly improve my score?
A: No, we do not grade the tests based on how quickly you respond.
- Q: Will I be penalized for incorrect responses?
A: If you are not sure of an answer, by all means you should take a guess! Look at the category, and read the clue again to see if it offers any hints. If the answer entered is wrong, it counts the same as leaving the space blank, so there is nothing to lose.
- Q: What happens if I want to skip ahead to the next clue?
A: You may choose to skip ahead to the next clue at any time by clicking on the "Submit" button. You should be aware that any partial data that you enter into the response field will be captured and submitted "as is" when the time expires for that clue.
- Q: Where will the test take place?
- Technical Support
- Q: What are the technical requirements for my computer to take the test?
A: You can take the test on either a Mac or PC. The test is currently not compatible with mobile or tablet devices. No matter which type of computer you use, we encourage you to check that you meet the technical requirements:
- Use a high-speed Internet connection.
- Make sure you have Flash 10 or higher. (Install or upgrade your Flash player here.)
- Use Internet Explorer 8.0 and above, latest version of Firefox, or Safari 5.0 and above.
- Do not use a screen resolution smaller than 1024x768. The Online Test is optimized for screens this size and larger, and it may not display properly at smaller screen resolutions.
- Make sure your text settings are no larger than 100%, or "normal" or "medium" size. Increased text settings will prevent you from viewing the test in full.
- Q: My teen is having trouble logging in and taking the test on test night. What should I do?
A: If you are on a Mac or PC computer and having difficulties logging in try the following tips.
- CLOSE YOUR BROWSER AND ALL OTHER RUNNING APPS AND PROGRAMS (Skype, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.)
- Refresh the test page and try to log in again.
- Reopen your browser and return to the test login page.
- Open up a new internet browser (Firefox, Safari, etc.).
- Upgrade your browser to the latest version.
- Confirm that your screen resolution is higher than 1024x768,and that javascript and Flash 10 or higher are installed.
- If none of these tips work and your computer has all of the technical requirements listed in the previous question, please send a note with your operating system, internet browser and version, Flash version and the error message you are receiving to jthelp@sonypictures.com and we'll do our best to help troubleshoot.
- Q: Can I take the test on my mobile or tablet device?
A: The test is currently NOT compatible with mobile or tablet devices. You must take the test using a high-speed Internet connection on a Mac or PC.
- Q: Can I take the test using a dial-up connection?
A: We strongly discourage you from taking the online test with a dial-up connection, as it is a timed test designed for high-speed Internet connections. However, you may take the test from any location, so you're welcome to use an alternate computer with a high-speed connection.
- Q: Will installing Flash cause any harm to my computer?
A: There are no known issues associated with installing Flash.
- Q: What is the Computer Check and why should I take it?
A: The computer check simulates the online test experience by offering 3 clues. It is intended for demo and testing purposes only. It confirms that your computer setup meets the technical requirements of the Jeopardy! Online Test and demonstrates the test format. You must do the computer check on the same computer and in the same browser that you will use for the actual Online Test. You may take it as many times as you need. Your responses will not be recorded or graded
- Q: What are the technical requirements for my computer to take the test?
- After The Test
- Q: Will teens receive my test results?
A: The Jeopardy! Contestant Department will not send teens their score. You will know if your teen passed the test if you are contacted by a member of the Jeopardy! Contestant Department.
- Q: When can I expect to be contacted after the test?
A: If your teen is selected to move to the next round of auditions, they could be contacted by the Jeopardy! Contestant Department any time within one year of this test.
- Q: How are test takers selected to move forward?
A: Due to extremely limited number of audition appointments, those who pass the test will be included in a random selection process. Those selected to come to an in-person audition will be invited to their preferred audition city (chosen during registration) to participate in a full audition process.
- Q: What can I expect if my teen is selected to go to an audition?
A: If your teen is selected to come to an audition, they will be tested with a new and different 50-clue test, play a "mock version" of Jeopardy! to assess their game-playing skills and do a short personality interview. Adults who pass this criteria for regular shows will remain in the applicant pool for 18 months from the date of their in-person interview. Tests and auditions for College students, Teens, and Kids are tournament-specific.
- Q: My teen hasn't been contacted. When can he or she take the test again?
A: If your teen has not been contacted to audition or compete by the time the next online test for this group is held, we encourage you to register your teen to take the test again, assuming they still meet all eligibility qualifications. Passing these tests does not guarantee your teen an appearance on Jeopardy! or make them automatically eligible to appear on the show.
- Q: Can we be certain that you will visit my preferred audition city this year?
A: The cities listed on the registration form are currently under consideration by our contestant department, but there is no guarantee that auditions will be held in each of them this year.
- Q: Can I change my audition city after registration?
A: We would suggest that you select the audition city that is most convenient to you. We are always happy to make changes at the time that invitations are sent out, but there is no guarantee that auditions in your alternate selection will still be available or have not already been completed.
