From navigating the America’s Cup winner, The Star & Stripes, to throwing passes with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jimmy McGuire brings a natural enthusiasm and innate curiosity to his job of taping Jeopardy! clues from the country’s most fascinating destinations. “When something grabs my interest, I just have to know about it—all about it,” said the Pittsburgh native, who, prior to Jeopardy!, worked several years as a segment producer and reporter for a local TV newsmagazine.“When I’m on location, it’s very important for me to make sure the Jeopardy! viewer experiences our clues as intimately as I do.” Jimmy has recorded Jeopardy! clues from the original Air Force One, a nuclear submarine, a championship NASCAR track and the home of the Little League World Series. His travels have included trips from small towns across the United States to such spectacular exotic locales as Rome, Paris and Peru. “Traveling to Machu Picchu along with Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek was a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for me,” Jimmy commented. “I wanted to bring the Peruvian culture and history right into our viewers’ living rooms.” As Jimmy enters his ninth season with the team, one of his most favorite Clue Crew experience was the honor to meet and greet service members during a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour to Japan. “It was such a pleasure to personally meet all the hundreds of servicemen, women and their families during this unbelievable journey,” he said. “The incredible response Jeopardy! received made my job that much more special.”
